Venue type guide
Outdoor events in Singapore happen in gardens, on hillside lawns and on the beach. This guide compares the main open-air venues and explains how to plan around the heat and the rain.
What these venues host
Singapore has few large open spaces, so the ones it has do a lot of work. Outdoor event venues in Singapore are used for light shows, concerts, fitness festivals, heritage tours and national celebrations. Parks in Singapore host events across the year, and a good share of them cost nothing to enter.
Gardens by the Bay combines free outdoor gardens, open from 5am to 2am, with ticketed conservatories. Its free Garden Rhapsody show at Supertree Grove runs twice nightly. Fort Canning Park is a heritage hill in the city that NParks describes as open around the clock; its Fort Canning Green lawn is a popular site for concerts and music festivals. Sentosa adds the beach, with festivals staged along its shoreline.
If you are looking for festivals in Singapore, expect them to cluster in the cooler, drier parts of the year, though the city never has a true off-season. NS Square at Marina Bay is the newest name on the list. It is being built on the former Float @ Marina Bay site and is targeted for completion in 2027, so it has no events yet.
Each venue below has its own page or will get one. Outdoor schedules are the most weather-dependent of any venue type, which is why we point you to the organiser for final confirmation.

Practical tips
Check which parts are free. At Gardens by the Bay the outdoor gardens are free, while Flower Dome, Cloud Forest and Floral Fantasy need tickets. Garden Rhapsody and Borealis can be watched free from the ground.
Carry an umbrella. Borealis at Gardens by the Bay is cancelled if it rains during show times, and walkways are largely uncovered. Esplanade, which runs outdoor performances of its own, also warns that haze can cancel them.
Time the heat. Singapore is hot and humid all year. For daytime visits, go early or late, take water and wear light clothing. Evening events such as the light shows are easier on the body.
Use public transport. Gardens by the Bay is served by Gardens by the Bay (TE22) and Bayfront (CE1 / DT16). Fort Canning has three nearby stations. Sentosa is reached by Sentosa Express from VivoCity, and the Beach Station stop is closest to Siloso Beach.
Join a tour at Fort Canning. NParks lists free guided walks, such as Heritage on the Hill on 3 October 2026 and Trees of the Fort on 10 October 2026. Book through NParks, as places may be limited.
Expect closures on big weekends. Bayfront events can limit road and pedestrian access around Marina Bay. Check the organiser before you travel.
The main open-air venues are Gardens by the Bay, Fort Canning Park, Sentosa and, from 2027, NS Square. Start with the Gardens by the Bay guide.
Many are. Gardens by the Bay’s outdoor gardens and light shows are free, and Fort Canning’s guided tours are free. Festivals and attraction entry on Sentosa can be a mix of paid and free activities.
Fort Canning Green is a popular lawn for concerts and music festivals. Check the promoter for each show, as capacity and entry rules vary.
No. Construction began in March 2024 and MINDEF targets completion in 2027. It will host large national events.
It depends on the organiser. Some shows, such as Borealis at Gardens by the Bay, are cancelled in rain. Check the event page for the latest status on the day.
